Lunch & Evening Dinner

When you stay with us at Head over Hills you don’t always have to go out for lunch or evening dinner. Maybe you don’t want to miss the stunning sunset or feel like a night in. In season we serve lunch daily from 1pm – 4pm and evening dinner daily from 6pm – 9pm. Our private chef is composing a daily a’la Carte menu where you can choose to have one, two or three courses. So stay with us for lunch and dinner and enjoy the best view in Knysna. To reserve a table for dinner call or email us, alternatively on arrival just inform one of our helpful staff of your request.

150g Pattie topped with grilled cheese on a bun with salad, grilled onions and gherkins

Fish and chips
Hake grilled or fried served with home-made tartare sauce

Steak, egg and chips
200g steak grilled to perfection topped with a poached egg

Crumbed calamari served with home-made tartare sauce

Focaccia
Flat bread topped with rocket, a cold meat selection, marinated veg and drizzled with balsamic vinegar and olive oil

Soup of the Day
Please ask the waiter what soup is available. Will be served with an herb focaccia croute.

Mussel pot
Half shell mussels in a creamy spiced sauce served with a garlic roll

Venison carpaccio
Carpaccio served with a rocket salad, parmesan shavings on an herb focaccia croute and a lemon vinaigrette

Butternut and Beetroot Salad
Mixed lettuce topped with honey roasted butternut and beetroot with Danish feta and a balsamic glaze

Ricotta stuffed black mushrooms
Black mushrooms stuffed with garlic and ricotta cheese grilled in the oven with a splash of port and served on a bed of rocket with a basil oil

Antipasti platter
Selection of cold meats served with marinated vegetables and cheese sticks with a small rocket salad

Slow roasted lamb shank
Slow roasted lamb shank served on a bed of spiced cous cous with roasted butternut wedges and a lamb gravy

Smoked ham fish parcel
Line fish of the day wrapped in smoked ham with green olives roasted to perfection served with basil rice, roasted cherry tomatoes and rocket with a basil oil

Spinach and ricotta cannelloni
Cannelloni stuffed with creamed spinach and ricotta cheese topped with a tomato base sauce and grilled with cheese.

Grilled beef fillet
Beef fillet grilled to perfection and served on bacon mash, roasted vegetables with a red wine jus

Pork Belly
Slow roasted pork belly served with caramelized sweet potatoes and sautéed green bean and cherry tomatoes served with a homemade onion chutney

Springbok loin
Springbok loin served on a crumbed polenta cheese square with baby vegetables and a chocolate chilly port jus

Sage chicken supreme
Chicken breast served on a bed of butternut risotto with seasonal greens and a sage butter

Lentil Boboti
Cape Malay spiced lentil Boboti served with yellow raison rice and a homemade chutney
